Like I said this is a simple/crude method of removing the rotor and faster than doing this part on the lathe (or at least in my lathe)

Do you not have a part-off tool for your lathe?

I have a few, but they don't like being used when the circular path is perpendicular to the body of the tool. The body tends to rub the side of the cutout. What I need is a heavy duty plasma cutter so I can just them off, then to the lathe work.

No, the direction of tool motion should be radial, not axial.
Basically, making exactly the same cut with the part off tool that you demonstrated with the angle grinder.

Now I see... might have to try that way.

I thought about something like that but clamping a spindle for a trailer or the like in a vise and holding a grinder to it while spinning around the rotor to get a nice even cut if that makes sense..

Not saying I've been thinking of getting a 'new' Fiero, but I've been totally thinking of a new Fiero.

Of course that means all the things. Are we still providing this service?

Guys I have seen a few videos on this with not real great explinations beyond making the hubs. In any case I put together a You tube video and hope it helps for those that may want to try this. I dont have a lot of special tools like a lathe or mill. I did have to find a tool guy to make my adapter bracket. Everything else I was able to do at home with a drill, grinder, cut-off wheel.
So check it out and I hope you like it. I know its still not perfect as you get working and forget to take pics. So the video is about as inclusive as I could manage.
