I got my transistors ECG232 from netty electronics.

Here it is already soldered in (oops - auto-focus focused on wrong area )



Here's the bottom end before I trimmed off the leads.



One #37 bulb was burned out (there's 4), so I replaced that.



These are the parts I replaced.
The optical sensor assembly for cassette unit to fix ejecting of cassette.
Transistor to repair "clock always on" problem.

Now reassembled. Radio, clock display and cassette works 100% now.



Cassette plays well, Auto-reverse working properly as well as Music Search.

I currently have my UX1 apart for a deep clean, do you know of any pots or something on the cassette mech that might adjust tape speed? Mine plays a little fast and I've never found a fix for this.

Welp I just answered my own question... bastard speed adjusting pot eluded me for years, turns out it's on the cassette mechanism board and hidden by the lower metal plate which guards the belts.

I took a Dremel to the plate so I could turn it with the radio plugged back in. All good.
