What would it take to bypass the Neutral Start Switch altogether?

There is a little plug that plugs into the neutral start switch box (white thing with a long "plunger" that attached to the clutch pedal). My guess would be grabbing the other side of the plug off another car in a junk yard or something and just looping it so it is always connected and plug it in, and not worry (remove?) the box that connects to the clutch pedal. Hope that made some sense..

The NS switch on the auto controls a number of things. All of them safety related. Leave the thing alone. If your's isn't working right check shifter adjustment before assuming the switch is bad..

The Clutch interlock can be really annoying. It only controls starter enable. If you bypass it don't damage it. That way if you sell the car you can return it to stock with minimal anoyance.

What about on a manual tranny car. In the state of MD they'res a law against remote staters on standard transmission vehicles. I'm not an idiot, and would never leave my car in gear, it would always be in neutral with the e-brake pulled, so how can i by-pass that.

Do you ever let anyone else so much as
move your car?
You may not ever forget but some one might.
I jumpered my wires with a togle switch
and hid the switch, Kind of an anti theft
measure, But it's the 2 wires attached to
the switch going into the clutch pedal
when the switch is made or clutch
is pressed the wires complete the circuit.

Hypnotise, I knew I guy that said the same thing, I 'ALWAYS' leave it in neutral with the parking brkae on. Guess what.. once he didn't, lots of people watching an un manned toyota pickup run across a parking lot. It only stopped when it hit another car. Kinda hard to explain to the officer too. Just a thought.

I always put my 85SE v-6 4spd in first gear and set the parking brake when I park it. I figure if the brake slips the trans will help slow it down.

I have never accidentally tried to start it with it in gear without disengaging the clutch. BTW my clutch switch has been removed ever since I got the car.

I don't see what the fear of leaving the car in gear when parked is all about. Am I missing something?

Well.. my e-brake doesn't work.. so I have to leave my car in gear if I want it to stay in the same place. Haven't had any problems, but I try not to park on steep hills.. heh.
