Hi all, I'm new to this forum, but hope to be able to add as needed. I am currently building a Ferrari 308/328 replica Ferrari and may periodically drop a few questions if anyone else has any experience with these kits. I am building the kit on my 85 Fiero (95 ETC Cadillac Northstar) and would also love to discuss power upgrades for the Northstar conversion in the Fiero. My question of the moment, however, deals with the availability of replica wheels. I have only found one source which even looks close (compomotive ts) and they are about $2000 for the set (+tires). Does anyone else know a good source? At this price, it seems like I may luck into a bargain on some real ferrari rims (one set recently went on ebay for $400, but I missed the pics. If something like this came about, what would I have to do to get them to work (I am planning on a brake upgrade anyway and have a Koni/Eibach suspension setup. Any help or comments appreciated. Thanks, Josh Meeks

Josh, The Northstar isn't powerfull enough in stock form?! I also passed on the Compomotive rims for my Lambo replica, way out of range! I don't know of any other source for replica wheels, but I have seen some go cheap on Ebay, the last ones I remember were from a Mondial. My rossa is getting 17" Kosei 5SRs with genuine Ferrari caps. You can make almost any wheel fit using billet adapters. They are a minimum of 1" thick and can be made to your specs. The only thing you have to watch is offset and caliper clearance.

Well, Called up HRE (from the first post recommendation) and looks like a set of 15's is ~1600. Still a little steep. Tried finding a webpage for IRM also, but turned up nothing (I'll keep looking). So with these billet adapters, could I put stock ferrari wheels on the fiero? I took a look on ebay and nothing right now, but something may turn up. As far as the power goes, I'll probably start a post on it in a month or so, but it just doesn't "seem" very fast. I'm almost convinced it's the rearend becuase I can do 75mph in first gear (I don't know what's in it right now, but I've thought of going to a 3.71?) Then again, my last three cars were a 92 vette conv, a 96 Firebird Ram Air, and a 97 Camaro SS (this was FAST). I know it must have the potential, and it is blisteringly fast above 40mph (when the rpm is a little higher), but around town, it just feels slow (could also be a lack of torque that I am feeling). Thanks for all your help, any other comments / suggestions still appreciated as I'm still looking. Thanks, Josh

My friend John Norman has a N* in his Fiero and a 120hp shot of NO2. He figures somewhere around 480hp at the flywheel. He can eat C5 Vettes for lunch (no wheelspin, just can't-get-a-breath acceleration). He can keep up with a Porsche twin turbo 9xx (whatever the model # is these days). The downside to all this power is cash. Lots of cash. A ton of cash. Mucho dinero. Etc.

John Norman lists his N* as having "custom programming" and gets 348 hp dynoed (pre NO2). Any idea where to get more info on this programming? Is John on this list?
Also, how about adding NO2? I've heard you're taking a chance on blowing the engine with each shot. . .any truth to this?

rock, From all the stuff I have read wheel adapters aren't good if you want to maintain any sort of performance. Since you have done a Lambo and are doing a Rossa, where's the best place to get "good" adapters?

I had NO2 on my car for a while went through 16+ bottlels and never have an NO2 related problem... as long as you follow their instructions you'll be fine!
Ok, here are a couple of wheels, I think would look great on that car, and the price is Great. They are more updated and you can get them in 17". They are at JD Wheels: http://www.jdwheels.com
This is a copy of the Speedline wheel made by Eagle Alloy 077:
Or you can use the one like on the 355s, Roh ZS wheels:
On the wheel adapters, the thing people had problems with were the wheel “spacers” that fit in between the wheel and the hub like a washer. The spacer/adapter actually bolts up to the hub and then the wheel bolts up to the adapter. You can get wheel adapters from http://www.wheeladapters.com/ the old guy there is Fred, and he is great to talk to and work with.

Spyder, Thankd for the clarification on the adapters. The ROH ZS wheels are my choice for my F50 kit that I am starting on. I want to get the ZS SP Blue (the ones with the blue lip). They should be real tight.

I bought my Wheel adapters for the Countach from Fred at the link that Spyder posted above. I called to order them, and we ended up talking for about 30 minutes! Really nice guy. Make sure you don't get cast adapters. I had a set of cast aluminum adapters and they wobbled like hell. I swapped them out for a set of Fred's machined ones and never had another problem. It would be easy to make the OEM Ferrari wheels fit, but depending on offset, they might hang out too far. My car will need adapters on the rear that are about 3" wide, even though I widened the rear track.
