The controversy between 4cylinder and 6cylinder Fiero owners need not be resolved in this post.

Let's get some details! SloPonti, how did you build up a stronger bottom end on your Duke?

I am in the early planning stages for the engine rebuild I will be doing. I have a second "junk-title" '84 Fiero with a rebuild-able engine. I am going to build engine one while I enjoy the healthy one that's in my car now.

I want to get the updated GM timing gears and mild camshaft.

Are roller lifters and rockers worth the trouble and cost?

Which part numbers/brands are appropriate for the Iron Duke?

Details! Let's have the nitty-gritty!

i started with all new parts-new crankshaft and new rods-brand new-new comp cam-i also went with ARP rod and main cap bolts! new hypertectic pistons! basically i just put everything new into the motor and when i could buy parts that were better than stock i did so! you end up with a great 4 banger that will last a lifetime-provided you put together right! most parst are available from summit or jegs!
hope this helps-
