workin on puttin v6 back into an 87 gt, and i was wondering what the firing order was and which one is #1 cylinder?

the firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6 and the #1 cylinder is the one closest to the trunk.


the cylinders are matched as follows

firewall
6-4-2
5-3-1
trunk

The # 1 is NOT closest to battery. The #1 is the right side of the head as viewed from the trunk!

FYI,

GM V-6 and v-8 engines

The number one cylinder is the one closest to the crank pulley. Usually the cylinders are offset from one side to the other.
