Spektrum-
Yeah, I have a high-flow CAT, and straight 2.5" pipe running back to a pair of dual-tip Pacesetter Monza Resonator Tips (purchased from JC Whitney- can get them many places). They are LOUD, especially on long trips- but a very satisfying sound. I haven't had any complaints from my neighbors, and I live in a townhouse complex.
Although I am in the process of working out a dual-stage exhaust system. I'm going to use a Y-Pipe and install a small muffler (whatever the smallest straight muffler I can get). Then use the y-pipe to create a bypass around the muffler. The Y-pipe is controlled by a cable which allows you to open/close the Y as necessary. This would be nice 'cause it is quite droning when traveling distances (Dells Run was about 3-3.5 hours of driving with the car running at 3000 rpm). So, my conclusion is: it's great to have- draws great attention- been told it sounds like a V8- cheaper than getting the stock muffler replaced at Car-X (my initial reasoning for doing it)- BUT is is droning, and inside the passenger compart it can create a strange "buzz" at some RPMs. My Tips also were about twice the cost of the regular chrome tips- due to the Gold.
I know the car is dirty, but I was trying to use up film!
Current split for "Dual" setup.
Tip sticks out a little farther than stock
This was from my "photo shoot" when the car was clean. My sig picture is from these, but has been heavily photoshopped to emphasize color.
Another from the "photo shoot" -You can see that the larger pipe and absence of original muffler sticks down a little more also.
This is what I have in mind for the dual stage cutout system.
So, what do you think? BTW: I had the mods done at local Car-X, quite a few of our local club members have had this done.
