i just put new 225s on the rears instead of 215s, whats this going to cause thats negative? i doubt it would cause anything more than a *little* more stress on the transaxle.... but i love the better grip, so i dont really care! just wondering if it would cause any problems

225's are no big deal and won't cause any issues. *Maybe* your speedo will be a little off, but even that is doubtful.

I have used 225/60's on the rear before and didn't notice anything.

Go for it.

225/60/15's are pretty tall tires. 225/50/15's fit on 15x7's just fine, and don't overwhelm the wheels with sidewall. On the downside, they also produce a 5% error in your speedometer, but this is easily corrected with the "purple" speedo gear on a Getrag. Can't think of the part number right now but if anyone wants it I can dig it up. It's pretty easy to get from any larger GM dealer for about $15.

I've got 225/50/15s on all 4 corners. Oreif does, too. Works well although it seems to work better on Oreifs car as his had been dropped.

I bought a set of 87GT grey lace wheels at the swap meet in Huntsville last week and just took delivery of a set of BFG 215-60R15 BFG Radial T/As from Tire Rack (delivered in two days). Is there a different speedo gear to correct the speedometer in the Muncie 4spd in my 85SE v-6?

What do you guys use to refinish the clearcoat on the outer rim? One of the rims was badly stained with brake dust. I had to steam clean it to get it off and this fogged the clearcoat.
