hi gang

just starting a 3800sc into 84 2m4 th
engines mounted in the cradle, i noticed that
the 4 speed cables interfere with the exhaust
crossover pipe

i can see 3 options
a raise the mount bracket for the 1 cable
(select) and the cable end bracket at trans

b reposition the crossover pipe to the back
of the trans

c spend money and go the easy route install
a 5 speed

help mike

I know for my DOHC install I had to have the shift cable bracket modified to clear the crossover pipe. WCF took care of it for $30 plus shipping.

They cut off both mounting ears, added a little metal to the drivers side of the bracket and moved both ears out, rewelded. I have about a 1/4-1/2" clearance from the pipe.
