It's attached in the most difficult place under the dash in the center, i need to replace it on my 85 duke and have no idea how to do it. Do i remove the dash or vent shroud. I'm asking because i will likely ripe apart the whole car in a large form of rage if i can't figure it out.

Never had to replace the throttle cable in mine fortunately, but I believe you may need to remove the dash to access the cable at the front. You will also have to remove the center console since the cable is routed along with the shift cables. The ECM may also need to be removed since I believe the throttle cable routes through the firewall behind the ECM.

First go out and buy a case of beer. You will need it. Then remove the all of the center console parts. Then remove the clips holding the carpet to the console skeleton. Then remove the radio and the climate controls. Then remove the console skeleton. You should be able to get to the point where the cable fastens to the body.

I just did mine. What a pain. You should remove the center skeleton as mentioned earlier then you'll have a, ok it'll still be a pain You'll want to remove the gas pedal that is held in by two easy to remove bolts. Now you can remove the cable end from the pedal with ease. Reach down and squeeze the cable connector then pull it out. To install it helped me to fish some wire through the little hole to come out by the gas pedal. Now just connect and pull through. The other side is self explanatory.
