I am putting POR-15 on my cradle, and I was wondering about the “white film” that seems to have been left after the Metal Ready has been applied.

It states that you are not to get ANY H2o in the POR-15, so I'm wondering if this will ever fully dry?
It’s been sitting out in the sun for about 2 hours now, and it’s a kinda sticky mess on the metal.

Should I wipe all that off, and then apply the 15, or will it even matter? It’s literally all over the cradle, and that’s A LOT of wiping!

I think the white residue is the reaction to the cleaning action of the meatal ready. I just hosed it all off once th metal ready had done its work and let the parts dry in the sun before applying the por 15.
Excellent stuff by the way.

Are you saying the POR-15 is still sticky?
You should not be letting it sit in the sun. POR-15 doesn't like UV rays. I painted all my stuff in the garage and it dried in about an hour. Thin coats also are better than 1 thick coat.

or is it the metal ready that is sticky?
You are suppose to rinse it off with a hose after 20 minutes. Let it dry then paint the POR-15.
As for the Metal Ready white residue, that is normal and will cause no problems.

I support what was said, rinse the metal ready off. I used the marine clean, rinsed thoroughly, then the metal ready, rinsed thoroughly, let it dry for a day, the POR'd it. Looks fantastic!
