The passenger sun visor (The one with the mirror) will not stay up no matter how tight I tighten the screw. What do I need to do now?

The easiest thing to do is go to the wrecking yard and get a set out of a Lebaron. They are a direct fit, will not be coming part like the Fiero ones and can have lighted mirrors in them.

The only differance is that they are a little bit longer than the Fiero ones.

Which year Lebaron should I look for?

E-mail the Fiero Store; they had a deal on them not too long ago, as long as your old ones were in rebuildable condition. I traded mine in, and the new ones are great!

Early 90's. I just bought 2 a couple weeks ago and paid $10. They look great.

There is a split plastic insert that is squeezed between the mounting post and the sunvisor sleeve when you tighten the screw. It has likely worn through or shifted such that it no longer makes contact to cause the necessary friction to keep the sunvisor from moving on its own.

Loosen the screw enough to slide the sunvisor off the mounting post and look at the insert. It is white plastic, is about 3/4" long, and has a flange lip on one end to keep it from being shoved all the way inside the sunvisor when being installed. If it is missing or damaged beyond repair you can get replacements from a junkyard (most GM sunvisors have a similar insert) or wrap some electrical tape around the post to act as a surrogate insert. You may even find replacements in the HELP packages in auto supply stores.

I believe Theoger has a writeup about sunvisors in his cave.

Electrathon,

Do you have any pictures of the LeBaron sunvisors that you'd like to share? How does the color match with the Fiero interiors?

Good luck,

Carroll

Thank you!

I need to fix mine up, too, and I'm trying to keep my interior components as OEM as possible.

there are notes on this problem in my cave.

the problem often isn't the visor but the pivot rod that goes into it from the mount. Either the rod is loose or the plastic bushing is messed up.
