Seen a fiero at the 20th with the VIBE wheels and it looked sharp. I was looking at an '03 VIBE this weekend and I was wondering if the wheels were a direct bolt on. Anyone know for sure?

Also, it looked to have bigger brakes as well. Obviously if the wheel bolt pattern is the same is the Fiero I would imagine that the rotors might fit as well then all one would need to do is get a caliper to work. Anyone have any info on these parts?

The Pontiac Vibe is actually a Toyota Matrix.
The wheels are the correct 5x100 mm pattern, but the center hole will have to be bored out slightly. Not a big deal.
Sorry I don't have the exact figures on hub sizes.

Here's a link to my original post about the Vibe wheels.

Yes; the bolt pattern is the same. However you must use the Vibe (Toyota) lug-nuts with the wheels also. The holes in the wheels are not tapered, so GM lug-nuts will not work.

No; The center bore is different. The GM standard is 57.1mm Dia. The Toyota (Vibe) standard is 53.1mm Dia. So, the center hole of the wheel must be bored out to 57.1mm Dia. to a depth of about 14mm (do not bore all the way through the wheel). The 14mm hole depth is so the "Vibe" center caps can be used. This hole is critical in centering the wheel onto the hub, so the machining must be done accuratly.

I'm not sure about the brakes? As with the wheels, the center hole of the rotor would have to be enlarged to fit the GM hub. However, this would remove the hub-centric ring (center flange) on the Vibe rotor resulting in the inabilitiy to center the wheel correctly (eg; non conical lugs).

not sure anyone would want to be me but you could always try =)

thanks turbotoad, thats the info I was looking for. Its too bad GM had to rebadge a toyota for the VIBE because I really like those wheels. And if it is a Toyota at heart then the brakes are going to be all toyota as well adding to my headaches. When I make it down to the parts store next I will have to take a look at the rotors and see if I could at least use those. Sounds like it might just be easier to do the LeBaron brake upgrade in the end tho.

I did the Zettner brake upgrade and used Celica rims. I turned down the rear bearings and front rotors to accept the Toyota rims and Lebaron Rotors.

I did it this way because I have more than one set of rims and I didn't want to have every one of them bored out.
