Bump for me too! I know its wintertime and all. I'm just wondering if you have any updates on the car. I'm simply amazed by what you've done with it.

Yeah, it's been a while since all this went down. The throttle body has been upgraded to a 58mm BBK and the change was dramatic. ECM analysis showed that the air/fuel ratio is now dead-on under acceleration, but it still remains off at cruise.

I have taken the car apart in a heated garage for the winter to do some work on it. Currently I'm treating the leather seats to soften them from the last 5 years of aging, having the aluminum valve covers polished, overhauling & cleaning the rear brake calipers, upgrading all rubber brake hoses to stainless steel, upgrading the brake master cylinder, replacing all a/c o-ring seals, and dyeing the trunk carpet. Most of that work is almost done - and just in time for winter. Next is to figure out a cold-air intake setup for it, as the intake air temps are usually in the 140degF range.

I get about 22mpg on the highway, and about 15mpg around town. Videos, photos, stories and specs are available at

To the new crop of forum members, welcome. Perhaps one of our more senior members would like to compile a list of recommended historical threads to read for those who are just joining us.

Thanks for the note about the videos page, I've fixed it. There's also a new standalone site for the car.
