AAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!! excuse me while i bump myself!!!! Just alittle update! The jackshaft fits nicely under main cap #3 and the pontiac windage trays bolt onto #2 and #4 with a nice contour, perfect for the jack shaft . So i have to find a nother windage tray and fabricate it to the original so it will bolt on #2,#3 and #4 main cap. That will give me the clearence to get the shaft through. Also I am working on the cradle mods which i used a 10.5" and a 10" peice of 2x3 1/8th box tubing to get back far enough and i will tie it together with a 29.5"peice. Other than that I have been installing main studs and soforth in the motor. So it will work and it doesnt sound much different than the sbc swap.

So, you decided to go with the conventional orientation (pulleys forward). I will probably do the same for my first install, then work on a reversed arrangement on a second cradle on the side. I can also start on a serious performance build on the second tranny.

I would of gone with the reverse setup but i dont think it would be easily attainable with the pontiac motor. Not enough clearence for the dif, flipped. Now if i come into some money I might pick work out something like cardealers revers gear drive!! But i would like to get this done for now!!!!

Sounds good, keep us posted on your progress. The nice thing about Fieros is you can work on a reversed orientation swap on a spare cradle and plug it in when you get it worked out. All you need is the cradle, a spare Poncho motor, and transaxle.

Hey, th425 guys!!!,

I havent had the time to teardown the diff, but i was wondering if the axle mounting flange can be unbolted and removed and placed on the otherside, this will be the only way i can flip the dif!!! I really want to reverse this set up now before i go to far!!!! I would guess the axle mounting flage is splined , hopefully rhe same splines as the other side ring gear!!!!
