As the question says I have a 88 formula and no master cylinder. But I do have one from a 86 and one from an 85, will they work?

NO they are NOT the same....

The differences are internal as well... the 88 is smaller in one or both bores. I don't ahve the details handy.

If you manage to put an 84-87 MC on an 88 you would have REDUCED braking power.

Does that mean the combination valve next to the brake master cylinder is different also?
