I hate to ask such a seemingly basic question but I need some help on this. I've had my Fiero for a week now and it has a Sony stereo cassette player in it. It doesn't work. There's been some custom wiring done to this car so I don't want to "fool" with any of it until I know what I'm doing. I'm going to look over it more later...but I need to know this basic thing before I start. It may just be a blown fuse....so where is the fuse? I found the fuse block but which fuse is it? Does it even share one with the rest of the block....because I see writing for many other things but a stereo/radio. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am a big music fan. Thanks!

87 GT is the 4th row down and the second fuse to the right. 10 amp.

Thanks jetman I found it. I also went out and bought a Haynes Fiero manual but it doesn't tell me much about fuses. I have a spare 10 amp fuse but it doesn't go in the fuse plug designated as "radio". You can't get a 10 amp fuse in there. What am I missing?

Because you have an after market radio there should also be an inline fuse on the hot wire to the radio or a fuse directly in the back of the radio. If it happens to have an in line fuse,I have had a couple of radios were the fuse holder was broken and makeing intermittant contact. There may still be life in that baby!

Both the 84-85 and the 86-88 fuse blocks are shown in the Chilton manual. The 86-88 information is also here:

You may be trying to put the fuse in a test socket. There is a single hole labeled "radio" and another labeled "bat" that together look like a fuse location but it isn't.

I took the radio out and found every wire with the cleanest cut. Someone just snipped every wire on this stereo (is a four channel hooked to four speakers too) and installed it right back into the dash. What a mess! I went through the headache of hooking all these wires back up, grounding the stereo (it wasn't grounded before) and I ran a 14 gauge wire from the radio positive to that test socket you mentioned. Nothing. Not even the clock. I ran more wire from the stereo directly to the battery and still nothing. There were a total of three fuses running to this stereo and none are blown....yet the radio just seems completely fried. Oh well. I just reinstalled the stereo until I can get another one.

BTW - thanks for the image of the fuse box...that is exactly what I needed! I KNEW I should have gotten a Chilton's!
