This is the fourth time I'm pulling the tranny out of the damn car this year. I seem to keep having my flywheel bolts back out on me.

1st time I bought bolts form NAPA. Used blue loctite. Torqued em down, all was well untill the clutch need replacing. Lasted 2 years.

2nd time. bought new bolts. blue loctite. They backed out within 250 miles

3rd time reused bolts. Installed with red loctite and outer-lock washers (star type) Lasted a grand total of 2 miles.

Bolts install like they should, and I torque them down as close to 65 lbs as I can... it's a tight fit for a socket in there.

Attributes: Flywheel Bolt
Thread Size: M10 X 1.5
Length: 22.2mm
Type of Packaging: Carded

BK 6151551

What is wrong here?

I would also spray some brake cleaner into the holes to get any oil or grease residue out.

yeah clean the threads in the crank with a tap..
I had the same thing happen to me the first time i did a 3.4 swap..
i thought the engine was bad because the bolts hitting the clutch almost sounded like a rod knock..
if you continue to have problems i would recommend finding some slimline split-lockwashers to use in conjunction with the red locktite.. or bolts with the built in lock texturing
( www.mcmaster.com is a good source for hardware )
sounds like you may have a vibration issue that is vibrating the bolts out..
