Just wondered...

if anyone had the color codes for the stock 86se speakers... what I mean is, what color wires go to what speakers, and which are positive and negative?

I'm installing a deck and don't really feel like pulling out all the speakers to peek at the wires.... especially the back 4x6's since I guess I have to pull the whole panel to get to em...

it'd be a BIG help!

thanks guys!

As an afterthought, if your original harness is still intact, you can buy the Scosche connector at Wal Mart for around $10. This interfaces the car's wiring with the stereo's wiring. Then you just crimp the wires from the head unit to the connector using the diagram included, plug it into the head unit and into the car's harness, and you're ready to go with no mistakes! This is how I connected my Pioneer head unit and didn't have to cut any of the car's wiring.

You can pick up a headunit wiring harness at basically any place that sells car stereos (circut city, best buy, the wiz, whatever local places you have around you) as well. Just in case you have everything but a walmart close by like me.

I've often wondered how much more effort would it of taken GM to stamp + & - on the connectors or at least the speakers. This crap about light color wires up front mean 1 thing an in the back they mean just the oposite sucks,. There was a time when an idiot could look at speaker wiring and figure it out.
Just wait and pretty soon they'll take the pos & neg off the battery and make the cables the same color, if they have'nt already !!! Don't get me started....
