As most of you know, I am a few days away from having my 305 v8 86gt fiero done, I intended on using the stock intake to keep horsepower and torque #'s down, But i was reading alittle into stock 305's and i noticed hp #'s were in the 160-180 range??!!??. I got to thinking thats just like having a heavy v6 back there! I have a alluminum dual carb intake that i bought and now i see the opertuniity to use it. But seing is how the fiero only has a 10 gallon tank I don't want huge carbs drinking the gas. Does anyone know whats available? thanks for the help -gary-

Holley makes a 390 CFM 4-barrel carb. That's the smallest one I know of.

The Holley 390 CFM is the smallest and you can buy the tuning kit with different sized jets (smaller and larger) to tune the carbs.

What's the rest of your engine combo look like? Unless you have the cam and heads to use the airflow, I think dual 4's would be overkill, even with 390's. I'd trade that intake for an Edelbrock Performer (2101) or maybe Weiand 8004 and use a Q-jet carb.

...just my $0.02...

I have a Holley 2300, 350 cfm carb which is a 2 barrel on my 2.8. I am told by the local speed shops that it will support up to a 350 ci. engine and my carb is used in flat track racing.

I believe 2 - 390's would be overkill for the 305 (I've had a 305 Trans Am)

It seems to me that you need to be looking for a couple of smaller 2 barrel carbs vs. two 4 barrels.

The old six pack setups used to use 3 - 2 barrels and they went like stink.

You might want to look at Weber. They have done alot with multiple carb manifolds and have some pretty wicked small bore carbs for racing purposes.

That's my 0.02c
