Trying to convert the Fiero's factory 12-pin harness over to the 21pin used on later 90-02 GM models without cutting the wires, and I'm stuck at this point:

1) The connector on the 12 pin marked LAMP, should be connected to which one on the 21-pin connector? DIM or PRKLITS?

2) Does the brown wire from the Fiero harness need to be connected anywhere to the 21-pin harness? Or is it not used?

Thanks!

The brown wire is to goto PRKLITS. When you hit the parking lights on your factory radio, the radio dims. Lamp should goto illumination.

They also make an adapter, it's a Male 12 pin to female 21 pin, I don't know if that would help you too.

YES....... I got one for the newer radio I put in my coupe.. It's painless.. Just plug and play.. No wires to cut.. Drop by one of your local car stereo dealers that does installation.. They're bound to have one in stock.. Not only were the power/speaker plugs different, but the antenna plug is a different size too.. They make an adapter harness for this as well..

Yeah I tried, neither stereo installer in town carried them, I actually had to get the connectors to make my own from Best Buy. The dealerships I talked to said they could get one in 4-5 days, so I just decided to make my own.

Thanks!
