I forgot to fill the torque converter before installation. Can it be done after the fact? I don't want to take the engine out again.

Dump 4 quarts down the tranny dipstick tube. Start the car in *Neutral* let it run for 30 seconds turn it off and top it off through the dipstick tube. Make sure you get the fluid hot and check it again for a precise level. You did align the input shaft, the pump splines, and the pump gears?

You don't really have to fill the torque convertor, you just have to have a quart or so in it to lube the internals until the tranny's pump fills it up. If your torque convertor is used it probably has some oil left in it.

Thanks, I was hoping that I didn't screw up. I will have to wait to start the car, I'm not ready for that yet, but just remembered about the fluid in the torque converter after the install when I was doing all my checks and balances. What a relief.

You did the right thing. Better to ask before you start up the engine than after
