Speaking of Muncie LSD, I just received the Engineered Performance LSD for my Muncie. With the weather getting cold, I will be getting back to overhauling my trans, and installing the diff. I will be sure to keep everyone updated. I will post pictures as soon as I get my digicam back.

Mine was from the original batch of 4. I just received it last week.
It has a pre-load mechanism similar to the PG, but the key difference is the EP diff has clutches between the side gears and case. The clutches are the main friction point, whereas the PG relies on the metal-on-metal rubbing between the blocks and gears to apply friction.

Sounds promising. So how long before you have your digicam back and we get to see it?
Sorry for the delay...I have my digicam back finally, so here are the pics I promised of the Engineered Performance limited slip diff for the 4-spd Muncie.
Here is the diff:
The pre-load mechanism is similar to a Phantom GRip:
You can just barely see the sintered bronze friction discs sandwiched between the spider gears and the diff housing:

Somehow none of my auto-searches managed to catch that. Thanks for the heads up!

Anyone using Marty's scanned manual get in to a 85 (3.65) tranny yet?
I have one bearing left to pull... the LH bearing on the output shaft. There seem to be a few differences between the manual and what I have on the bench however.
For one, 3rd and 4th gears appear to be a fused unit, instead of separate as the manual indicates.
3/4 highlighted in red: vs.
The LH end of the shaft also appears to have a mushroomed-out fitting of some sort pressed in to the end of it which overlaps the bearing. I assme that this fitting needs to be removed before the bearing may be pulled off the shaft. (see below)
edit: yes, that's the bearing in the photo above. I cut the cage & rollers off to gain better visibility of the space between the bearing and 4th gear.
Any insight appreciated...

The later transmisisons used the one-piece gears, retained by a screw-in cap. The ID of the cap has what appears to be a 12-point hex pattern. I tried to remove mine with both an allen wrench and Torx bit, but it had been torn up previously by someone else, so they just stripped it out worse. If you are lucky, yours will come out with the torx bit. Be careful, as the threads are left-hand. I ended up having to weld a piece of tubing to the cap to allow me to remove it...not exactly recommended if you need to re-use it

If all of your old shims are thicker than required for the new bearings, another alternative is to have a machine shop grind down the old shims to the desired thickness. This is the route I ended up taking after running an uninspiring gauntlet of local Chrysler dealers and transmission repair chains.
Do you still have access to the shims? If so, can you get me the ID and OD measurement? I was helping a friend track down shims for rebuilding a GM 10-bolt rearend, and we ended up buying shims from McMaster Carr. It didn't occur to me to use this on the Muncie shims until now.
