After I did my test fit today of my SBC I have concluded no block mounted electric water pump will satisfy me because of the 'hacking' I would have to do to make them work. I would like to convert my block mounted CSR to a remote but need to know what people are using for fittings and stuff for their remote setups. I looked at some adapters and fittings already but -12 AN fittings are $30 a piece (need 4) and adapters are $50 for 2 (need 4). That brings the total to $220 for fittings alone without the hose and the cost of the pump which was $200+. What is everyone else running for remote WP's? Any help is appreciated, thank you

I had seen pics of somone tapping the holes on the block & using elbow fittings to direct the water to the elect pump.

If I ever get to installing mine, that is how I am going to do it.

Wish I had saved the pics.

Let us know how you solve this.

Gppd luck.

Here is an old pic of the outlets I fabricated to run an electric remote water pump:

Just some bent pipe and some flanges made from 1/4" steel.

I am no longer a fan of electric pumps (remote or otherwise) and have since switched to a belt driven waterpump that a good friend and I developed. It fits within the frame rails/strut tower and requires NO Cutting, Denting or other distortion to the Fiero chassis/metal.

You can tap the holes in the block to 3/4" NPT and use galvanized pipe fittings.

You are totally correct. If done right and pretty it will cost you. I spent near $500 between the pump and fittings for my remote setup (see link for pics). The block flanges were near $100 alone. Not too easy to get either. I didn't cut nor trimmed anything for my pump. Now, be careful with home grown setups out there. At least in my 88 I need to disconnect the flange from the block to get the hose out of the way and be able to drop the cradle. A system with a threaded block and pipe would not work. Maybe pre 88s have more clearance.
