I really don't have the money to go out and buy spark plug boot grease so what else is okay to use? WD-40? or Wrench Super Lubricant?

You can use a bit of Vaseline petroleum jelly. The boot grease is to help the boot slide on and help seal water out. WD40 will work but the boot could weld itself to the sparkplug once the WD40 dries up.

It's just dialectric grease, $1 for a little packet of it at Autozone.

Use dielectric or silicone grease here; petroleum jelly (or other petroleum derived products) will attack the boots and lead to early failure. You can get a little packet containing all you'll need for this job for less than a dollar at your local parts store.

Well, I put a decent amount of dialetric grease on the distributor contact points, on the coil plug, and on the trunk side spark plugs and my car had difficultly starting esp in cold weather but now it started perfectly with no delay in 45* weather. Now it's going to be fun trying to access the firewall side for the spark plugs.
