1984 2.5L Indy manual

Ok so I'm sure by know most of you know the issues I have been facing getting this car running right. Well I have found yet another loose wire that has been cut/ripped in my bay. This one is black like the last one, but i do not know if they are supposed to be connected. The frst one I found I confirmed to be a ground.

This other wire is part of a connector. I'm not sure if it is meant to be a ground or not. I took a bunch of pics of the connector and its loacation. I was hoping you all could confirm it to be a ground and tell me what the connector is? I went ahead and added a butt connector (blue) to the loose wire. Right now I just have a length taped up to make sure before I connect it to anything. That connector looks like it was charred before I got the car and I would hate to start a fire! But it could help explain my battery drain problem.

Thanks!

Do you recognize the connector. Is it even in the right place in the engine bay???

Well for starters it looks as though your entire C500 block has been moved. Normally on a 84 that big connector block which the mystery wire comes out of is fastened more or less to the center of the firewall. Please tell me you moved it while working on the car, rather than that's where you found it!

Rather than going on a witch hunt, separate C500 and identify which pin the mystery wire comes out of. Then all you need is a pinout of the connector block to tell you what it's supposed to be connected to.
