Well for the past two days, I have called every maching shop in the area and went to about 6 places yesterday in person and no one can machine my camaro flywheel to the .840" thickness.
Does anyone know of someone who can do this job for me? I can't believe no one would do it.. seems so simple.
One guy said he would be able to do it but it would be out of balance, and he had no means of balancing it to the flexplate.
Any input is appreciated!
Thank you!

the first place I took mine to said $100 bucks and to give them a day. Sorta rare that your getting so much flak about it, any regular balance machine should allow for any type of balancing.

Contact James bondo on here he got his machined and balanced from a shop in Pickering if I remember correctly, he has a very nice 88 GT running a 3800SC against a 5 speed getrag. Dan
The place I deal with in belleville charged me $150 just to balance one. They said it would be around $350 to turn down and machine one so the place in Pickering is about the same cost. Dan

unless you are setup to turn flywheels it can be an expensive setup a flange must be madeup to mount the flywheel to.. then the work begins. Most shops that surface flywheels have a machine for just that purpose but it wont remove a lot of material at once... so again.. expensive
I went through all of this years ago and determined it was more cost/time effective to buy the correct wheel from Archie.
There is an old school automotive machine shop in Aurora on Industrial parkway south 5 min from the 404. I can get their name for you and pm you with their number etc

Not sure if you have it done already, but I can ask my machine shop how much they'll charge to turn it down... all I need to know is how much they need to machine it, and they'll know how much to drill and re-tap the preasure plate holes.
Thanks Joe
