so the 2 codes I pull are 32 EGR vacuum solenoid , code 34 is vacuum to high @ MAP sensor . Will replacing the EGR Vacuum solenoid fix code 34 ? or is it another problem all around ?

thank you

The rule of thumb is to solve codes going from the lowest to highest. I doubt that replacing the EGR solenoid will solve the MAP problem but start with code 32 then go to code 34

they are unrelated.
infact, they are kinda oppisite of each other.

may i suggest that you disconnect the battery for a few minutes to clear the codes and start over.

one of the codes could be from a long time ago.

Hello BuddyCraig , thx for your video walk through on getting codes . I have cleared codes more than once , the only time my check engine has ever come on is highway driving @ high speeds.

so now that you have cleared the codes, just drive it and wait for the check engine light to come back on.
then pull the codes and we'll see what we are dealing with.

but with the light coming on when you are on the highway, that is a classic case of a code 32.

In some OBD 1 cars with MAF sensors a MAF malfunction could set a false code 32. Since the MAP sensor takes the place of the MAF in the Fiero is it possible that the MAP sensor might also be causing the problem with a Kpa mismatch for example. On my resent swap I received an intermittent code 34 a number of times on startup which went away when the code in the chip was changed and I installed the appropriate 2 BAR MAP for my application. The major difference initially being an old sensor vs a new one. EGR is disabled in the chip since my engine did not come with one.

Perhaps checking the plugs for good contact might help also, otherwise my voltages checked out fine.
