So I've been looking at the LT1 Conversions and they look great. There is only one part of the conversion that I do not fully understand. How do you get the fiero throttle cable to work with the LT1 Throttle body? The LT1 has a T cable end and the fiero has a eyelet. I've seen serveral of these conversions completed and no one ever talks of this cable problem. Thanks for help, this has been on my mind forever and just can't come up with an answer.

I used a 1/4" stainless steel button head with self locking nut on my RamJet throttle body... same issue.

In addition to what he said.... If you are doing the LT1 swap to an automatic, your throttle has to pull the TY cable as you open the throttle. So that cable has to mount above the center pivot of the throttle blade.

These pics should show you what you need.

Hope that helps

Thank you Fieroguru and Archie. I was thinking that I was going to have to pull my cable out of my car and take it to a bike cable manufacturer or somthing to have it changed. I though that maybe there was a specific year that had that cable too. I have an 88GT and a 86GT so I thought that was a long shot. The way that you guys have it hooked up it looks like it'll work with no problems, but I like things to look as stock as possible. Have you guys ever even seen anyone with a LT1 fiero, with the GM T cable end like the one that is stock in the picture I posted? I'm just wondering if it's even possible. Thank you guys for all your help and info. PFF is the BEST!

If you really want a "T/Barrel end you could remove the eyelit from the stock cable and go to a tranny shop and get a crimp barrel end (look at the TV cable end in Archie's pic). It has a hole for the cable to slide through and then turning the bolt in the side will clamp it tight. I would not rely on just the bolt to hold the cable, so I would probably tack weld the end of the cable to the barrel.

I am pleased with the 1/4" button head on mine and it has been there almost 3 years and 15K miles.
