Can someone tell me the "correct" type of grease or lub for window tracks? I'm restoring a GT with power windows that haven't been moved up/down in quite some time and I want to lub the rails/tracks since the door panels are off. Thanks!

Best thing to do is go to you nearest GM Dealer Parts Counter, then you'll have assurances that it's been tested to extreme temperatures, as well as all other testing done for Production cars.

Use a lightweight milti-purpose grease in all the tracks & surfaces you can get to by hand, & spray lithium on all the gears/hinges/rollers. ~ Paul aka "Tha Driver"

I was doing the same thing to my car last week, went to HD, and got a can of silicone lube made by PB Blaster. I sprayed everything down really well, ran the window up and down a few times, and sprayed it again. It seems to be working as of right now. I wanted some sort dry lube that won't be affected by dust and dirt that makes its way inside the doors. Scott

Then after being told $29.95 for that can of white lithium grease, go to autozone and by a can for $3.99
it's white lithium grease, they used it for everything in the 80's,90's, and even now. it's a great all purpose lube.
And yes, I have that can of "Mr goodwrench general lubricant" It was left in one of my cars after a warranty repair. It's nothing more than white lithium grease in a spray can.

I think I have some white litho grease/lube here at the house you can use. Just grab it and your engine stand next time you are around.

Hey, I just figured he's restoring a car and wants the best for it, there's a lot of different blends of white lithuim grease out there, I certainly wouldn't want one coming from China. At least the one from GM would work for very long term, and you wouldn't have to worry about doing the job again for a very long, long time.
No prob, I understand about the good tips. just never ever get suckered into buying anything from a car dealership. it's no better products than you can get anywhere else. and that grease at the GM dealer is made in China along with a lot of their other stuff. and the dealers are good at marking prices up to gouge the home handyman.
