what is the possibility that you plugged all the ignition wires in backwards? maybe you got thrown off due to looking at the engine from the "other" side than you would normally. i can't think of how many times i've done simple things like that backwards due to temporary dislexia.
This is correct?

ok.. its idling now, and no misfire.. like..wtf i did nothing to fix it!
It runs great.. smooth throttling, no vibrations.. but.. when i give it a little gas, it stays idling at 2k again... I am seriously thinking its either the TPS or IAC
I took out the IAC and screwed it on more, because i noticed when i took it out of the throttle body and plugged it in, that it adjusts itself, it poped out of itself, so i screwed it on as much as i could, then it idled at 500 rpm..
I think i found the culprit! That doesn't explain the previous misfire though..
You absolutely cannot push or touch the pindle(sp?) inside the iac or it will not control your idle anymore. You will either have to spend a couple hours figuring exactly where it was or buy a new one
and if you ever took your tps out, it plugs back into the tb funny and you have to set the spring right, I've messed it up a couple times

Yes ive taken my tps out
there is only one direction it can turn, but i believe you set it in 45* then turn it so the bolt holes line up again.. anyone correct me?
Btw.. mines a 97 motor.. with 98 harness.. should be the same, no?
Nope. This IAC will ony fit a 99 or newer throttle body. Thats how I ended up with it. I was told my motor was a 99 with 16,XXX miles but it turns out that the bastard, who installed it, lied (see sig). I bought a IAC for a 99 but the motor installed was actually a 97 not a 99.
So this one is not going to work unlees you have a 99 or newer throttle body. It reall sucks cause I paid quite a bit (ZZ Performance) for this IAC and can not return it cause it is electrical. Now i'm stuck with it!
i've got a whole 99 tb, maf, and iac setup off my car when it was stock. long time ago. you can have it for the same price. it's just taking up space in my garage.

I do believe there are some differences between a 97 Charger and a 99 Charger. It is my understanding that a 99 Charger will up the HP about 10-15HP over the 97
I know for certain that there are some visible differences.

There are no supercharger differences between the Series2 motors, besides that the 97 has an extra vacuum port

The 97 SC is the same as the 98 and up series II except for the extra vacumn port the internals are fully interchangeable, the differences in the 99 and newer series II is the throttle body that has a slightly larger bore and a different MAF that does not take up as much room in the air path as the older one. The 98 and up use different emissions for the EVAP which has a different charcoal cannister and the addition of a fuel tank pressure sensor making the 97 EVAP a much easier system to work with. Dan
if you had a wire off... it would have been very obvious on the scanner... Throw whatever pos code reader you have in the trash and get a autotap/powertuner
Good to hear its running now and hats off to Dan for taking the time to go over and help you out. You will still have many bugs to work out once its actually on the road and rolling.
Well, the pcm hole it was in, was giving it 12v just not what it needed. It wasn't adjusting the voltage as needed. Whenever I unplugged the IAC it would throw a code..
Dan is a really great guy, I envy his kids for having a great dad.
now.. I just have to figure out this coilover problem and its drive time!
