What do I need to know? Just drill as far as I can and the decklid will open? What exactly will I have to do other than just drilling to get my decklid open? For point of reference it is an '84, no power decklid release of course. Lock cyliders are all bad and the only door key I had sheared in half.

Thanks!

Thanks guys. Fieronum, I had already started drilling. My key was pretty mangled, don't know if a key guy would have been able to use it.

You could just give it a couple good whacks with a flathead screwdriver and a hammer

Done it a few times now, works every time

This is how I do it too. Once you whack through the lock mechanism you simply twist the screwdriver and the decklid pops open. Should only take a few minutes, at mostn and it doesn't damage anything else except the lock.

Does this work on the doors too? I have access to the trunk, but the doors are locked and I don't have the right keys for them.
