Dropping my cradle to repair my clutch (Again) and I found that one of the two starter mounting bolts is missing. The missing bolt is the one towards the rear of the car, closest to the engine. Can anyone give me some dimensions diameter x thread x length so I can buy a new bolt @ auto supply/Tractor Supply?
Thanks, Ray in Texas.

GM starter bolts aren't regular bolts, they have a knurled and machined outer diameter that is very precise because they are critical for locating the starter. A regular bolt will allow the starter to get misaligned and that will ruin the flywheel/flexplate and the starter bendix fairly fast.

From your description, you need the inboard bolt, the short bolt.
Looking in the P-22 manual, the bolt size is : 10mm x 46mm.
p/n 14001842, still is listed at GMPartsDirect, GM list is $4.25, looks like a common part, so any GM dealer should have it in stock.

As reference for others, the longer bolt, size: 10mm x 114mm, p/n 14001841, no longer listed on-line, the part number could have change.
As Jazzman noted, the bolt has a special shoulder for use with starters.

Thanks StockGT......and others. I'm off to the parts store right now to get both bolts and six new clutch pressure plate bolts. When I pull the transmission I found my newly installed pressure plate floating freely on the input shaft. All six of the mounting bolts had come out! Fortunately there was know significant damage to any of the internals of the bellhousing, pressure plate, disc, etc. Cleaning all parts w/brake cleaner, blowing off w/compressed air and going to install the new pressure plate bolts w/ Red Loctite. I don't know what happened during the intitial installation. I used blue Loctite and I'm almost sure I torqued everything to factory specs. Oh well........at least I'm getting good at pulling the transmission! This time I used the Tilt method. I have aluminum cradle bushings and removed only the two rear cradle mounts. Had plenty room to tilt the cradle w/o pulling any wires/hoses loose.
Thanks Ray.
