One of the previous owners of my Fiero replaced the headliner and did not reinstall the visors (had to buy new onew). They did not cut the holes in the liner for them. I feel the hole in the backing is there. What would be the best way to cut through the liner without messing it up?

Make the smallest hole possible for the central male member on each visor(with a razor knife) and then you have to hunt for the screw holes(there are three on each visor and they are NOT symmetrically located). Have fun!

I used a dental pick (or needle) to find the screw holes when I had my headliner re-covered. The fabric / backing was quite thick, but it was no problem to poke around 'till I found the holes with the pick. Didn't leave a mark..

Once you locate the three holes, insert a round tooth pick in all three. After you guide the visor into the large hole, remove the toothpicks and install the screws one at a time. Toss the toothpicks.
