Yes, again, somebody is asking questions about wheel offset for an 88 (Formula)

I just want to know if I read Joe Torma's offset diagram correctly before ordering my wheels.

18x8 +38 all corners will be just the limit on the wheel well side and OK on strut side.

Tires size planned are 225/40/18 front and 245/40R18 or 255/35R18 rear.

Here is the version of the diagram I used:

8 x 38 should be fine on the back...

But that drawing doesn't show the correct alignment of the front edge on the 88. Your front wheels will stick out by about an inch. The only way to fix that is more offset on the front or narrower wheels.

I just put 8" +38 offset on front and they stick out a bit. It was the best I could do with wheels I liked.

To correctly visualize the fitment on the front of an 88, take all the tires on Joe Torma's drawing and shift them to the right by an inch. The 8 x 38mm should be sticking out by about an inch.

That doesn't look that bad to me, just letting you know what to expect.

They do not look like they are sticking out an inch, but what I look at is the top of the tread against the lip of the front fender. That looks more like 1/2" or less. I looked high and low to find out how these would look before I bought them, but no luck. I had to take a chance. I need to post a shot directly over one of the front tires to show it well. For now all I have is this. These 18" x 8" with +38mm offset

I got a shot over the wheel well. The wheel is not perfectly straight, but it should show you what you need to know. I can say I was surprised when I looked at it this way. Now it does look almost 1" past the fender lip. As much as I don't like it I am going to live with it. I like these wheels and have not found anything with the correct offset that I like better.

Yes. Maybe a bit less than an inch sticking out, but the stock 88 fitment is one inch more outboard than the 84-87. That's why the 88 front wheels were 1 inch narrower.
