I figured, I was going to get tint anyway, and didn't think was an easy solution, i have some other doors to swap, guess I will be doing that.

another question - how easy is it to remove tint?

Best way to remove is use any window cleaner with ammonia. Spray tint excessively then use a razor blade in a corner of the window to et the peeling started, careful not to scratch glass. As you're peeling it will be nessecary to spray glass cleaner between glass and tint. When tint is all off there may still be some residue on glass, use window cleaner and soak well, use a credit card or plastic scraper if there is a lot of glue, if not should come clean with a bit of scrubbing with paper towels and glass cleaner. Ammonia in the cleaner is KEY...Hope this helps

Not hard, but tedious and messy. Scrap and peel, then use window tint adhesive remover from store to clean up. Makes a mess, might want to remove inner door panel first.

I tinted for 25 years - easiest way to remove film is to mix up a solution of 50% sudsy ammonia and warm water. Get a corner of the film up and pull it off - most film has a 'grain', so if it pulls little triangles as it tears, go to another corner. spray the window down with the ammonia solution and cover with some newspaper or paper towels soaked with the ammonia solution. Allow it to sit for a while and the glue wil turn to snot and be very easy to remove with a single edge razor blade.
