I would really like to put this motor in there transversely. I don't get that warm fuzzy with any of the transverse tranny's. The ones that are setup longitudinally are tried and true but that will add length to the car and I don't want to do that.

as one who has done a few longitudal fieros. If you want lots of hp with relaiblity this the way to go. The thm 425 is basicaly a 400 turbo trans with a short rearend attached. With that said there are tons of aftermarket parts to build up the trans. a 1,000hp could be transfered to the ground with one of these. How ever this is not an easy mod. i have never done the 4t65hd but I have seen grand prix making lots of hp relaible. Plus the 4t65hd is plentifuly in the junk yards.

I have, and they are far from reliable... The transmission can be made to hold the power, and they do work, but expect problems with everything else that you dont mod.

I go more by the "they are in junkyards" option more than the built option....

The TH425 setup I imagine would require a bit less "trick parts" as alot of the mods are more developed than the 65e... Also the 65e aftermarket is slowly disappearing due to GMperformance parts vaporizing slowly over the last year, at least in the FWD market.
