Hey everyone, I've been trying to find a seal for the pinion shaft on my 88's steering rack. It seemed impossible to find a GM replacement, so I went to NAPA today with some measurements, and we found a seal that is very close to the original. It cost me just over $6 from Rockauto, so I will update the thread as soon as I install it and include some pics. These are my measurements of the original seal:

Original seal - #26005917
Outside diameter - 1.345"
Inside diameter - .785"
Width - .210"

Replacement seal (Early 1990's Honda power steering pump seal)
BCA/NATIONAL - #222028
Outside diameter - 1.348"
Inside diameter - .787"
Width - .276"

The biggest difference between these two seals are the width (thickness), which shouldn't cause any problems. Otherwise, they are very close. I just thought I would make this thread in case anyone else has torn up their seal removing it to rebuild their rack like I did.

Got the seal and installed it. Worked great! Old seal on the left, new one on the right.
