I believe i've read somewhere also that you can also use the entire 3400 engine assembly with some working of the
accessory drive etc..?

If I understood correctly in my reading's the heads, intake were swapped to a shortblock to keep it looking fiero?
And because all the fiero accessory drive is retained etc.. (basically all stock, different block).
Is the shortblock only used to simplify things for the DIYer that isn't savvy with wiring and harness building? and wants to keep it as cheap as possible reusing the stock accessories? (*and emissions of course)

Lou your thread is awesome, and a great resource.
I wish the search function here didn't bring up the same posts over and over again no matter the search,it needs an advanced search option or similar.

For the pushrod 3.4L V6 crate engine which Blacktree mentioned, and in which you'd expressed an interest, check out its GM part number, 12363230 (source: p. 131 of the 2009 GM Performance Parts catalog --- "While supplies last" --- which actually is GM's terminology in that catalog, not mine).

As for other minor, somewhat obscure parts you'll presumably need in Texas to complete the easy pushrod 3.4L swap successfully (parts like the 3.4L V6 swap A/C compressor bracket, and the fitting required for the oil sending unit on the 3.4L block for A/C cars), I recommend checking out the "3.4 V6 Engine Swap Parts" section of the website of fellow PFF member, Rodney Dickman ( http://www.rodneydickman.com ).
