If you are going to do a duke rebuild, I would just get an 87-88 DIS and hunt down a 92-93 s10 Blazer duke head. There have been a few of them up for sale in the mall lately. you would also have to buy fuel lines and a throttle cable for the DIS engine. I am sill searching for one myself for my remanned 87 Duke. I wouldn't bother with a new alternator unless you need it. If it does go in the future, it is right at the top of the engine bay and can be easily replaced in 30 minutes by a novice. Just my opinion to keep the immediate costs down.

I'd have to go with Kurt on this repair. You'll get what you want out of it and if time allows you might get to be involved in the rebuild and learn alot for next time... there will be another fiero in your possetion and in need and we all know it.....
