Guys, what kind of grease is used in fiero steering racks?

not sure - but I used plain old "axle grease" like what is used for the front wheel bearings

Same here. Go to Canadian Tire and get this (I use this to grease everything - it's pink)

Last one I took apart had black graphite grease in around the pinion and and bit at the other end's plastic bushing. Looked like the same grease used in CV joints. That rack was Asian and not GM.

I used wheel bearing grease as its waterproof, takes heat well and is long lasting.

The service manual mentions anhydrous grease. But realistically, any decent-quality grease should work. Graphite or moly grease should be more than adequate.
