Take the screw out of the little clothes hook and the one that's on the inside when you open the door, the whole panel will then pry off, take your time because it's got some sticky black glue type stuff holding it that will stain anything it touches

I've just done this. You need to be careful also of the fixing about 3" down from the top where the panel clips into the B pillar at the back of the door. I think it will need a new fixing. I actually removed it temporarily on mine as it didn't want to go back together. If its sticking, it will make it hard to get the screw back in to hold the panel down.
What speakers are you putting in?

yeah, its pretty easy to do. some speakers dont fit too well, tho... the Pioneers i got had a bit too large of a magnet on the woofer part, and the "frame" of the speaker plate was too deep, so only one screw really want in heh...so both my rears are being held in with one screw. works fine, and they are snug-ly fit without any rattling or anything, but just a warning (sound awesome tho xD)

You forgot to mention the upper seat belt bolt needs to be removed as well.

A good thing to do when removing stuff in a Fiero is take off all the small things that interfere. When you try to pry it of, see if anything interferes, and if it does, take it off as well. You'll waste less time waiting for a response, which is good when Fieros take up all of your free time

I almost pried off those speaker grills before I found out you have to remove the whole panel. love the Fiero, but yet another quirky design flaw. Oh well, that's what makes a Fiero a Fiero :-)

Here is a shot of the rear side of one. I was testing some paint to see if it worked OK on the back, before I painted the fronts. You can see that the plastic 'nub' is melted, or welded to the 'B' pillar trim piece.

That's a great link, especially the part about using double sided tape between the plastic speaker housing and the metal spaceframe of the car. Who did that video, I wanna give them a +
its the same as nearly every (maybe EVERY) stock installed door-speaker. ther is no removable grill, gotta take the whole panel off
If you really want to have some fun replacing speakers where the panels have to come off, go enjoy a new Mini Cooper, or S-10 extended cab. Those are fun.

That's very true. Actually the Fiero has one of, if not the easiest front speaker removal, not even any screws holding the grill in place. Most cars are not that easy so I suppose it's OK to have do a little work the get to the rears.

and I would too.
As a guess it may have been Xanth; but I really don't know. How about a + for me for finding that for you!

Oh, I gave you a plus before I asked who did the video. no worries. BTW, how many ratings do you need to get a bar anyway?
Thank you!
I believe it's 50 ratings before you get a rating bar. Also as far as I know; until that rating bar appears, there is no way to how many ratings you have or how your ratings are stacking up.
