I am replacing my stock clutch pedal with one from the Fiero Store. I talked with Rodney Dickman today and he told me that I should remove the spring from my cluch pedal. Is this true? Thanks for your help. The car is an 84 Fiero 2M4.

Yes... it isn't needed. I've rebuilt several pedals now and have removed the spring. It works just fine without it.

Pontiac put out a service bulletin that said to remove it. Its floating around here somewhere. Its not only not necissary it can actually cause problems with the slave sucking air past the seals. Its also WAAAAAAAAYYY easier to put back together without it.

I removed it when I replaced my bent pedal. Works great and easier for my worn out leg to push.
