.
I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP THIS THREAD STRICKLY TO THE DISCUSSION OF THIS SETUP (LS1 PCM & NORTHSTAR)!
.
.
.

I am sure that many of you are interested in this. This will be a good setup and in the near future anyone can purchase the software to tune it.
Currently it is a Manual trans 96 to 99 program.
After I get the harness I will work it over for a 00 to 05 engine also. I will also have some auto trans options soon.

It is on it's way.
I have a PCM and harness coming.
I have the software to make "380+ hp". This is what I was told by my friend at GM.
If you think about the increase it is only about a 25% increase.
$1000 for harness and PCM. This will include updates. The price may go up with the amount of mods to the tune.

I dont know if it matters or not, but Crzyone was using a LS1 BigStuff 3 ECU to run his 03 Northstar 5-speed.

That price seems crazy to me.... you still have to tack on tuning software after you write the file for the end user.

What is special about the software, just modded crank trigger code?

This is for the PCM, Harness and the Tune.
This is a GM setup!
I am not writing any files.
I am using a known good tuning software package.
The LS1 uses 8 coils this uses 4 coil packs.
The Programmed is highly modified by GM to run this setup.
This is not some Program that I assembled. It is 100% GM and GM safe. I will alter the program with the Tuning software as requested. This will allow for and already has been a Boost Program

NO.

The Tuning software has not been released for this program yet!

If everything goes the way I predict. The tuner software company will list it shortly

$1000 isn't bad for the amount of work that goes into building a harness...

The only thing I'm concerned about is not getting some kind of tuning software to go with it. Remember the Holley commander 950 is about $1400 and comes with a harness and tuning software.

(Remember? I told you we were cheap!)

As you can see by the pictures I have been working on this. Since the last time we chatted I have worked out some problems.

I am thinking $350 for a PCM, Schematic, and a customized tune.
I am thinking $600 for a PCM, Schematic, and the software. Yes you would own the tuning software package.

$650 for a NEW harness with all NEW connectors is not that bad. The first few will be GM built and then they will be assembled by me.

I have called and called people. Then I finally I came across this add. I offered to purchase the remaining harnesses and ECM's.
I have spent hours researching this setup. I know that the engine is nothing that special. It is a 4.0L with VIN 9 cams. I have looked at the heads and I have seen no modifications.

Some of them were made to accept Superchargers. The Superchargers did not come with the motors. Superchargerd they run about 380 HP.

IAC, 4t80e.

The main problem with trying something like this is that I wouldn't have the time necessary to devote to it.

I could build a jumper harness. Unplug your PCM and plug in this one. I would need to know your pinout and PCM type. Also is the 4T80E stand alone?

I will clue you in on more information.
I did not want to speak out of turn. The Horse and Cart thing.
.
This program Originated at GM on a 4.0L with VIN 9 cams in it.
The 4.0L had 250 HP
This program with the intake cams from the L39 VIN 9 made 320 HP
That is a 70 HP gain with just two cams and this program.
This is a 28% gain
Next they ran a Blower on it and made 380 HP out of a 244 CID engine.
Yes it was only 60 more horses, but I think it was close to being tapped out at 320 HP.
That was a 130 HP gain
That is a 52% gain.
Hmmm. 52% gain on a 300 HP Hmmmmmm 456 HP + the increase of cubes from the 4.0L to the 4.6L might squeak out 460+ HP with a blower.

Remember This is a GM setup.

This is a Good clip. Again not factual. 500 HP from a 244 CID come on.

This PCM and program will work on a Northstar 4.6L or Northstar Aurora 4.0L engine in a FWD or RWD application. Currently it is a RWD manual trans application. I hope to get this LS1 PCM to be running an auto trans. We all know that we can add a standalone trans system.
I have not receive the PCM and harness yet. Monday?
This program should not with or without ABS just in case you are interested in that

1996 Northstar, Getrag 5 speed, 272 cams, is what I would plan to use with your LS1 PCM program and harness.

The LS1 has 8 coils. The 04 has 8 coils. The 00 to 03 has 8 coils inside of 2 cassettes.
I hope that I can switch from the 93 to 99 style back to 8 individual coils very easy. That and the auto trans are at the top of the list. I am working with HP tuners.

I got the harness today and I am almost done with the schematic.

I paid BIG dollars for the PCM harness. This is nothing under the hood. All I got was stuff inside the car and the PCM connectors. I have no engine harness

Working on the VTD system. I am not sure what system they used.

I have a Bypass module setup for PK3, but I can rewire it for another type of Class II signal. I have the instructions at work.
