My gas mileage is around 26 MPG. The final drive is same as the th125, 3.3:1 http://spacecoastfieros.com/tech/440-4T60/
The engine is a 3.4L push rod out of a 1995 camaro.

Wow, this still coming up. Glad it helped others. This car now has a 5 speed. More fun to drive. Still planing selling it.

Bump to avoid archives as this is a very valuable thread. Probably the best upgrade to the drivetrain without the complexity of an engine swap.
