My 85 GT, 2.8 is in need of a complete exhaust and the West Coast Fiero setup seems to fit the bill . I would like to get some other input from everyone else. I have decided on the long headers + Y-pipe combo, 3" down pipe (no cat), 3" cat back system with the upgraded Flowmaster 40 Series muffler. I know I'll have to finish the outlets and get tips. Has anyone used this setup or anything close to it that they offer? Any input would be great.

I would not buy anything from WCF. Just do some searches and many here will agree. As already stated try The Fiero Store. Jerry

I have WCF long tube headers on my turbo 3.4 They work great and have been holding up well. Just waiting for a reason to drop the cradle so I can remove everything and have Jet-Hot coat them. I did not buy the headers the previous owner did but It does not sound like he had any problems with WCF, and I like the headers.

Their work is good but you need to understand they basically build to order and don't stock an inventory for quick shipment. If you're patient you'll be satisfied with their product.

Like the guy above said, the are a custom shop that works mostly on non-Fieros. These cars alone can't really pay the bills (unless you're Archie), so they usually work on Fieros when business is at a lull.

Unless you live in town, expect it to take a while with your order.

I got the WCF Long Tubes & Borla Exhaust.

as mentioned above - these guys are a custom shop. they run Hot/Cold apparantly - I've been lucky - always been hot for me.

TrueLeo Intake/Header/chip is a excellent package as well - and - if you have no plans for the intake - decent exhaust is a waste. in fact - just remove the stock manifold & y-pipe. port them. perhaps hi-temp paint them. reinstall them. and you now have basicly the same gain. based on a basicly stock 2.8

exhaust & intake should be matched, for best results. either one improved, without improving the other is usually a waste of time. and, there are few decent alternatives to the stock Fiero intake.

but - anyways - the WCF headers & exhaust are a good product.

I've not done business with them, but have read about many other people who have.
Everything I've read seems to suggest they do good work, but can be slow to respond. Just keep that in mind if you go with them.

There's also Borla if you can find one. That's probably the best out there short of a custom setup.
I'd also consider a Spintech muffler either with the stock exhaust or even an aftermarket setup. They have a good sound and aren't too loud.

Thats also what I have heard previously, there work is nice but a long wait comes with it. I couldnt find a Borla cat back anywhere, there surely a nice setup. From what I have researched the Flowmaster 40 Series is a bit louder and more aggressive sounding than the Spintech, correct?

if you have any GTO mufflers and brakes by you they do amazing work. They made a custom exhaust for my buddies GMC sonoma (header all the way back) with the 4.3 for 120 bucks not including the Cherry BOMB muffler he had put on. (sounds like a monster for only being a V6)

I have ordered a few things from WCF and everything has been good quality but I like others, placed my early orderr as if I was dealing with a company like TFS, or Summit, etc where they have product on the shelf ready to ship. This must not be the case and is not something that WCF communicates to its costomers very well. I would buy something from them in a heart beat but be aware that it can take a while to get your order.

Borla doesn't make a cat back for our cars anymore... They require a 50 min strong order for even considering to start it up again. AT ONE TIME

I used their online order form a few weeks ago. They billed me $500 and still haven't made my exhaust yet. I suppose I'll just wait longer. I wanted to get this sooner.

How hard would it be to get 50 ppl to commit to buy one? I emailed them and asked and got no reply.

Edit: as far as headers I have the treuleo setup. I couldn't be happier. Response time is fast. And he is quick to resolve and issue that might arise with fitment.

I've made one purchase from West Coast Fiero. That was for the custom cold air intake. I'd be a little sketchy to do it again. The customer service seemed very unprofessional, and I waited over a month and a half for my part. It took that long for my card to get charged too. The picture also showed a chromed intake. What I got was a well made piece minus the chrome. Little sly there. Just use caution and good judgment.

So i just placed an order with West Coast Fiero. Gave them my card to charge guy said it would take 10 days to build the exhaust prior to me placing the order. Email response was fast when i asked about how long it would take to build the system before i ordered. Called the order in over the phone was a little lary of there online order system. You have to figure the totals your self. I asked how much shipping would be guy told me 30-40 and didnt give a total for everything. I sent a fallow up email to them about my order to confirm all the information was recieved and correct. Still waiting a response. Hope they come through... seems like they have great products, but there way of interacting with cusotmers needs a little work. Really need the exhaust ASAP from them.

It takes while to bulid these things:

I lived in Tehachapi for a year and was at WCF almost every day and every set of headers or exhaust system is made by one man who spends about half his time making exhaust sytems. If you want them coated that takes time. Sometimes materials are slow to arrive. Shipping takes about five days unless you pay more. In a way, almost everything they make is custom, although small parts are often made in batches. Nobody else makes or provides as many custom parts for Fieros as they do. And they have been doing it continuously for 20+ years.

And then of course, there is Curley's car ( last few pages of Madcurl's Arch Rival !!) over in the Construction Zone, or this:

or this:

David
