I'm having that problem too. DarthFiero's website shows various other oil filter adapters that will fit: http://www.gmtuners.com/swap/3800.htm (scroll down a bit). The Camaro adapter looks like it should work, I think.
I just called the dealer on part number 12569217, camaro filter adaptor. Part has been discontinued with no replacement. He checked stock with all dealers in the US and found 0 on hand at any dealer. Happy hunting!
I'm still a bit un-clear on axles. I have the 09 Cobalt SS axles and intermediate shaft. I picked-up a set of Fiero axles to do the outer hub swap. The Cobalt star does not fit the Fiero cage and the cobalt cage does not fit into the Fiero hub. Please don't tell me I searched for months to buy the wrong axles?

You have right cobalt axles, the two axles and intermediate shaft is all you need. To make it work in the fiero with any 3800 you'll have to move the complete engine and trans 1/2 to 3/4 inch to the right on the cradle. By doing this you center the axles between the wheels.

The axle length looks perfect. I have the 4T60E auto now. I actually have to move my motor 2.25" to the passenger side. My problem is the outer Fiero splined hub does not fit the Cobalt axle. I have made up axles before so I know about using a mix of parts from both outer hubs. The star from the Cobalt hub is much bigger than the Fiero star. The bearings in the Fiero hub are .68 and the Cobalt's are .78. I've read in other threads that maybe the 05-07 Cobalt axles were drop-ins. 09 Cobalt SS axles were very difficult for me to find. I spent 6 months and $300 obtaining the 3 pieces. Rather disappointing.

Im working on a swap that uses cobalt SS axles. The 05-07 cobalt SS superchaged axles fit the fiero hubs. The 08-10 do not. They made them bigger to hold up to the turbocharged motor.

Thanks for the info.... For sale- Left and Right 08-10 Cobalt SS axles. Wanted- Left and Right 05-07 Cobalt SS axles. Do you know if the intermediate shaft is the same? I believe it is.

Im pretty sure the intermediate shaft is the same all years. http://shop.zzperformance.c...4-ZZP-LSJ-Axles.aspx I bought these for my swap. They are rated at higher HP and TQ than stock. Not a terrible price either.

Well that's a great price. My motor is a 95 series 1 and the only mod I've done is a smaller pulley. I may be around 250-260 HP. I found a pair of axles for $110, free shipping. (05 Cobalt SS). Of course, for an extra $67, including shipping, I can get a pair of the good ones. But I have to keep in mind that I've still got $300 in the 09 axles that I have to try to re-coupe some money on.

Sorry for the late reply, but as you now know, the 09 cobalt SS axles are not plug and play. However, I'm going to try to find wheel bearing/hub assemblies that will fit the fiero spindles and the 09 cobalt ss axles. This way (if I can find something) I can use the stronger 09 axles and get away from the rather weak fiero bearing/hub assemblies.

Fatcat, With the 09 Cobalt axle apart and a Fiero outer apart, I've been pondering a solution. (So I could use these expensive axles I bought). Everything I've come up with leaves you with a weak axle. I considered trying to get a Cobalt hub. It appears to mount the same but really no need to go further because the diameter of the 09 Cobalt outter is 3.75". Fiero is 3.25" and it's .125" away from my lower ball joint. No room for a bigger outter. You could get a machine shop to bore and spline the Fiero star to fit the larger cobalt axle. but it looks like you won't have much left in the star. Or you could have the cobalt axle reduced and splined to fit the stock Fiero star. Now you have a weak axle. I hope you find a way to do it. My motor isn't strong enough for me to need heavy axles so I'll go with the easy fix. Kevin
