Hello Everyone. I am not sure if I need to buy new o-rings for the hr6 compressor. It came with metal colored seal washers that I don't think I need. Did you use just the O-rings and nothing else? Can I use them from the factory air o-ring pack (green ones) or are they specific size to the compressor? They seem fairly heavy duty. I see that your Randye's new compressor picture has black ones on it. Please let me know if I'm on the right path. Thanks.

The color of the O rings doest realley matter. You can buy the flat washer O rings from Autozone, ask for the AC washer kit or see if thay have them for that specific AC compressor.Better to put things back, the way they were.

If it had washers you need to use the same. As far as I know color on those do matter. They state the size. Take the old ones with you. Not sure Autozone and the like carry that type. They need to be the right size or it will not seal.

Thank you gentlemen. I think I found the right O-rings at autozone to order. The green ones I have don't seem large enough. I checked acsource website and I have the manifold that doesn't use the metal washers. Rather not take the chance and cause myself problems.

The V6 Fiero and the Cadillac 4.9 both used a HR6 compressor. Here is the important thing you need to know. It is not a round 'O' ring. It is oval shaped. It is not a flat washer style. I went threw all of this while mounting the HR6 compressor in my 4.9 swap. I have removed the below and re posted it for you.

I only had one 'O' ring on my compressor. I spent about two hours on the net looking for a number to try to look up to get the correct ones. I located OEM # 02724674, which is AC Delco #1530169. I called O'Rrilly's in Huntsville, TX They had 9 in stock. 83 cents each. I drove the 32 miles each way and bought me 4 of these. If I was asking for these by application, 91 Cad Deville, AC & heating, compressor seals, etc they were not listed. I found this OEM number at http://gmpartsgiant.com/

This was a difficult item to find. I had been to 4 different parts houses trying to find these, I took my one in my possession, most said they had never seen one like these, as they are sort of oval shaped.

The guys at O"Riley's didn't even know they had these until I gave them the AC Delco number. This number was hard to find and might be helpful to someone else trying to AC their 4.9 using the Caddie's compressor.

Just a side note. My A/C guy told me to be sure and lube the O Rings with A/C Compressor oil. He said that 95% of the leaks ha has encountered were caused by lack oil on the O Rings during assembly.
