Hello I just ordered a complete fiberglass interior kit for a fiero that replicates a Ferrari 355 and I have had problems using the 3m super 77 upholstery gle in the past due to peeling from heat is their an alternative glue that can be used other than a can
I have never used 77 except on speaker boxes. For the roof I stick to super 90... 2x the price but I have yet to have an issue with my firebird or fiero headliners. Its still in a can though. For my birds interior plastic, when I covered the cargo area, I used a brush on rubber cement style. Got it at home depot.
best recommendation is too call an upholstery shop. Ask what they recommend. Also check with some stereo shops

I use a spray gun with a professional glue but you can use general DAP contact cement. The only thing is that depending on the material, you may have to be careful not to flood it on as it will seep through to the top layer and ruin it. Also do not buy the white crap as it is complete garbage. Use the smelly dangerous stuff

yes always be concious of this.... Its why most products want each side to tack before adhering to each other... Staining and bleed they will happen other wise

Thanks guys called around a few places and found out that conBond contact adhesive was the best alternative It won't seep thru I was told and should with stand Chicago's weather without bubbling
Go to your local upholstery shop and they will have a 5 gallon of their upholstery adhesive. Bring in a antifreeze jug or equivalent and they will pour you what you need for a good price.

I use DAP Weldwood Contact Cement and ONLY the yellow ORIGINAL. The new improved white, like already said is about as good as Elmers Glue. I use it for everything from carpet and upholstery to vinyl and convertible tops. I worked part time for 11 years at a custom van and RV dealer and built whole interiors with just that. Even to laminating walls and counter tops. I spray it from a spray paint gun. Biggest thing to remember is you MUST let it pretty much dry BEFORE you mate whatever your using. You cant soak materials with it. You want both surfaces covered with a stringy film. It will spray almost like silly string to work best.
I've tried a lot of trim, carpet and headliner glue as well as 3M and nothing worked as well for me as 3M #08088. I recovered my headliner and it's held up perfectly for 10+ years in midwest winters down to -30ish and summers up to 115ish. Adjustible web spray pattern, doesn't soak through or stain.
