What are the tallest tires I can use without them fu****g anything up? I have studded tires for my 1987 Mustang but they are taller, and i can't afford other tires.

That said, I have 225/60/14 on the stock Fiero rim. (previous owner did it, and it seems to drive fine.) I'm sure that's on the edge of what's recommended and safe for the car. (it is a rare size, and performance tires are basically non-existent, which is why I'll be upgrading to aftermarket rims. Maybe "stock" ASA rims, most people on the forum trust.)
I know you probably don't want to hear it, but on any car, especially a mid-engined car, I would NEVER save money on tires. It's the only thing between your car and the road. Splurge on correct size tires and the right "sticky-ness" and eat Ramen noodles for a month.
Good luck with your search, and let me know if you have any more questions.
I have $40 to my name. So there is no splurging involved. If I could, and I mean it honestly, if I could I'd buy new tires all around. But I can't, and these fit my rims. And it would only be to get me from A to B until spring. (A to B is only 4 miles.)
Mattwa... shipping those tires to Alaska would break my budget. Haha. I couldn't even afford one of your tires I'm sure.

I had no problem with 225s on mine. Like said, your only restricted by the rim width. I dont think you have any problems with a taller tire than that like a 70 or 85 series which is taller than a 60 series. 70s are great for winter and give better traction than a 60. You would have to mount one to see if it misses the struts and A arms for sure though. It only needs to clear, theres really no spec for it. Wheels on my Magnum missed the knuckles by less than 1/4" and never hit.

The ones I have from the Mustang are 205/75R14 as opposed to the Fiero's 215/60R14. I'm guessing they will work good enough for me to get through the last few months of winter. Then this summer I plan to switch over to my '85 and it has summer tires on it currently.
Yea, I don't see a problem with that. Should work ok for the time being, only thing to watch for is rubbing because it's such a larger tire.
Edit: The overall diameter of the stock 215/60/14 is 24.15 inches, while 205/75/14 is 26.10 inches, so your speedometer will be 8% too slow, but it should be ok, I had 235/60/16's on for a test fit, and those are a tighter fit with a overall diameter of 27.10 inches.

Thank you for that info. I will use them only to get through this winter. Next winter I'll have new ones to match the car's requirements. Right now i'm trying to scrounge together some money for registration for the car, so I can drive it to a tire shop and get the studs on.. and.. then drive it.
